Volontariamo – Service Centre for Voluntary Modena

Volontariamo since 1995 is the association managing the Service Centre for the voluntary organisations of the province of Modena. The aims of the Centre are to promote, support and develop volunteering and the culture of solidarity. The Service Centres for voluntary organisations are regulated and financed by the National Law 266 (1991). There are 77 Service Centres for voluntary organisations performing at a national level: they represent about 10.000 voluntary associations. They are members of CSVNet – the Italian Network of Service Centres. Associazione Servizi per il Volontariato Modena consists of 82 voluntary organisations. It collaborates with about 500 other voluntary associations and 18.500 volunteers of the Province of Modena that work on a wide range of topics such as:

  • human rights, peace and citizenship, international cooperation, immigration;
  • health, disabled people and other disadvantaged groups; 
  • youth, education;
  • environment, cultural, historic and artistic heritage;
  • sports and leisure activities, etc..

Also, Associazione Servizi per il Volontariato Modena deals with: other Service Centres for voluntary organisations at regional and national level, social and institutional networks, EU representatives of specific projects and various community stakeholders (such as local authorities, employer’s associations, enterprises, universities, schools etc.). The services – provided to voluntary associations, other organizations or individuals – comprise:
promoting voluntary work and the culture of solidarity;
giving information, guidance and counselling (on legal, financial, administrative topics), supplying documentation and help to handle;
institutional issues (help desk);
providing training for volunteers and professionals of the third sector and for other stakeholders;
helping to gain access and manage private and public funds (local, national, European);
providing assistance in logistics and equipment;
financing projects – run by the voluntary organizations – as granted by the law.
